A total of 202 farmer claimants from 18 barangays of the municipality whose crops & livestocks were severely damaged by pests & diseases and natural calamities claimed indemnity checks worth of P 679,097 pesos under various insurance programs of the Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation (PCIC) today February 23, 2022 at Barangay Lopoc, Labason, Z.N. The indemnity check distribution was facilitated by PCIC regional personnel and Agriculture Office of Labason who untiringly promotes and disseminates the insurance protection campaign to the stakeholders of Labason, especially the marginal farmers and fisherfolks. Amidst type pandemic, Through the collaborative efforts of the present administration and stakeholders, hand in hand, Labason is working to ensure food security in the municipality and attaining a masaganang ani at mataas na kita.
